after many years in the Windows diaspora, I'm back to the Mac, and I have upgraded my trusty BBEdit 4.0 license to 9.0.
I am (again :) in love with BBEdit, and currently I'm just missing one feature.
BBEdit can compare text files and show differences down to character level - so far, so good.
Now I need to create reports showing these differences for a pair of (text/HTML/XML) files - in HTML format.
Printing the BBEdit report as such to a PDF is not sufficient - I need a side-by-side, line-by-line comparison where the differences (deleted and added characters) are highlighted on both sides.
On the PC, I used a nice little tool called CompareIt (http:// www.grigsoft.com/wincmp3.htm) which had this feature.
But of course, I'd like to avoid firing up Boot Camp/Fusion/Window when I need such a report.
Can someone tell me if and how this might be achievable within BBEdit - or if there is a third-party tool doing this?
Thank you.
