Grep Sort, Ignoring Leading # Character
I need a bit of grep help.
What I'm trying to do is compare two settings files. In each file, some settings are commented out and therefore the default value, some are not.
The commented out settings begin with "#" and I wish to sort the lines of the files, ignoring the leading # characters so that the settings in each file, whether commented or not, will be in the same order.
In much the same way that I can sort while ignoring leading white space, I want to sort lines, ignoring leading # characters.
I'd like to add this pattern to the existing Searching Pattern selector in the sort dialog.
And it would be ever so cool if I could Compare Two Front Documents while ignoring the # characters.
All help appreciated.
