I am searching and replacing text using several (10 or more) subpatterns. Say I want to specify (in the replace field) the first subpattern \1 followed by the numeral zero. If I put \10 in the replace field, it is interpreted as the tenth subpattern.
The best I have been able to come up with is a two-pass solution, sticking some unusual character between the \1 and the 0, then removing the unusual character.
Is there a better way?
