Say I need to add two extra tabs at horizontal cursor position 7 of several lines in succession. In older versions of BBEdit (e.g., BBEdit 7), I could place my cursor at the horizontal position 7 of the first line and then hit tab, tab, down-arrow, tab, tab, down-arrow, etc. The cursor would return to horizontal position 7 after each down-arrow.
In BBEdit 9, the cursor goes straight down from its current position, rather than recalling its previous horizontal position. So to effect the same change, the key sequence is tab, tab, back-arrow, back-arrow, down-arrow, tab, tab, back-arrow, back-arrow, down-arrow, etc.
I'm unable to find a preference that affects this behavior. Am I overlooking something?
thanks,
michael
